Earlier in her career, she was an assistant to an orthopedic surgeon, pathologist and a pioneer in chest respiratory research. She studied Kirlian photography, completed a work study program on raw foods, studied magnetic therapy, and graduated studying polarity therapy. joy c has lectured at a vegetarian hotel in upstate New York. She is also a former dance teacher at Fred Astaire Studios, tap danced in a project directed by a filmmaker from Italy, and appeared in a Macy’s Tap-o-Mania event. joy c also performed in cabarets. She has worked with various creative individuals from Germany, Italy and Mexico City and studied with various religious and spiritual groups and individuals.
joy c is listed in the Directory of Poets and Writers as a poet and performance artist. She is also listed in the Biographical Center in Cambridge, England as one of 2,000 Intellectuals of the 20th century. She holds artist certification issued by the Department of Cultural Affairs and was a member of Pete Seegers New York City Street Singers.
Over the years, joy c has also made a splash in the world of poetry, speaking at the 2nd Annual Winter Tree Festival McCarren Park’s Nulty Square, Annual Poetry Festival, City College, Beaux Arts Society, Black History Month TV broadcasts, Jackie Robinson Forum, Poetry in the Morning radio show, Shelly Society of New York and Visual Radio Friction’s Digital Art Space She was also a hostess of online radio projects in which she incorporated comedy by creating various characters. Recently, she hosted a radio program on 620AM. Many prominent industry insiders have given her rave references and reviews.
A graduate of the State University of New York, joy c holds a Bachelor of Science and graduated as a physician’s assistant. She also completed graduate studies in interior decorating and is a skilled clothing and accessories designer.
Throughout her many years in the field, she has contributed to a plethora of creative works, including literary anthologies and magazines. She is an active member of the Chamber of Commerce of Greater New York and a former member of the Poetry Society of America and the International Platform Association. She has volunteered with various organizations from radio and the non-profit sector (including serving as announcer for a public school’s boy’s baseball team), and graduated as a “Gray Lady” in the Red Cross. joy c has been awarded many times for her work in the field. Since 1999, she has been featured in two editions of Who’s Who in the World, the 39th through 43rd editions of Who’s Who in the East, and four editions of Who’s Who of American Women.
